Jim Wilson

Jim Wilson started his commercial real estate career in 1989 and is acknowledged as one of the first sales representatives in the Canadian commercial real estate brokerage industry to focus on Occupier Services and corporate accounts.

Working as a contract real estate department for Occupiers, Jim has assisted Fortune 100 companies and startups from coast to coast on lease restructures, subleases, relocations, new locations and renewal assignments. 

The process Jim employs allows Occupiers to focus on what is achievable in a negotiation rather than what is affordable. This change is focus permits Occupiers to turn the traditional brokerage model on its head so they can drive their real estate PROCESS rocess instead of being driven by IT.

Jim is a member of the Board of the Innovation Factory and the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.  He is the founder and Chair of NextGreatBigIdeas, an annual life sciences summit in support of McMaster Children’s Hospital, and host of NGBILab and NGBIdeas which are “Canada’s Life Sciences Podcasts”.
